Meet our Coaching Team

All of our coaches are certified British Gymnastics coaches and each hold a different level of qualification. This allows our coaching team to take our members through to the highest level of competition. All our coaches hold valid DBS checks.

Peter Tassart

Peter is a level 3.4 coach and joined the club in 1999. Before becoming a coach Peter was a trampoline gymnast himself and competed alongside two other club members to achieve a team silver at national finals in 2001.

Rebecca Gibbs

Becky is a level 1 coach and joined Plymouth Phoenix in 2003. She competed at a regional level for the club before becoming an assistant coach in 2013. In 2018 Becky gained her level 1 coaching qualifications and has continued to coach for the club since.

Katie Fowler

Katie is a level 3.1 coach and used to be a trampoline gymnast herself with the club. Katie joined Plymouth Phoenix in 2008 and is one of a number of coaches who will attend competitions supporting gymnasts on the floor.

Jake Dawson

Jake is one of our assistant coaches who helps support the coaching team on a Saturday morning. This is the first step for Jake in becoming a qualified coach. Jake is currently a trampoline gymnast and has just started to compete for the club.

Charlotte Staden

Charlotte is a level 3.1 coach and has been part of the club since 2009. Charlotte was a trampoline gymnast before she started coaching as an assistant aged 14. She moved to Plymouth Phoenix from an Ivybridge club and has coached for us since.

Jasmine Wood

Jasmine is a level 1 cover coach and has been with the club since 2009. She has competed as a trampoline gymnast for the club many times and last year competed as part of the national league structure. Jasmine will also often judge for the club at regional competitions.

Alex Sprowell

Alex is a level 3.2 cover coach and used to compete for the club at a national level with the most recent result being a 3rd place at the national league finals. Alex is also a judge and will often be seen judging at competitions.
